3.x (Histories: Sandra Duchamp) is the sixth chapter and first interlude of Breach. Sandra's backstory.

Plot[]

The Duchamp family are getting Sandra ready to meet with her potential suitor, Jeremy Meath. He arrives with a bottle in hand and a contingent of evil-looking hippies. After a bad first impression, Sandra manages to turn it around and gain his acceptance for marriage. Along the way, we learn about more about how the Duchamps operate, Sandra's background, and her familiar, Hildr, Sandra is allowed to choose whether to marry him or not. She choose yes.

Fifteen years later, Sandra is negotiating with the Fae in their domain. She describes how dangerously beautiful and distracting their home is. After finishing their negotiations and gaining their permission to leave, Sandra's instinct kicks in. She makes Hildr beat them senseless, forces them to promise more stuff, then goes to retrieve her husband's stolen satyrs.

Later in her husband's demesne, Sandra is still uncomfortable the Others in it. She reports to Jeremy how the meeting went. In turn, Jeremy sadly reports his own failed attempt at becoming Lord. She tries to cheer him up by telling him that she's pregnant. He admits to knowing the Duchamps use magic to ensure they always give birth to girls, but is okay with it. However a nymph reveals that Dionysus magic overpowered her family's magic, and she going to give birth to a boy. Sandra is disturbed by this, as the working that ensures her family only has daughters would be broken if she gave birth to a son, so they would not allow her to carry one to term.

Potentially seven years later, Sandra calls her husband to ask a favor; prevent Blake from coming back to Jacob's Bell.
